Habitat
Located on the famous Black River, and in the heart of the flyway, our club is comprised of several hundred acres of flooded timber, buck brush sloughs, cypress swamps, oxbow lakes, and agricultural fields. Our ground is rich with smart weed, duck weed, coon tail, and wild rice which ensures the birds always have an abundance of food. Not to mention the timber is loaded with Pin Oaks, Red Oaks, and White Oaks for mast production along with centuries old cypress that offer breathtaking backdrops.
We have multiple moist soil units as well as water control structures and pumps to manage water levels year-round. Plus, much of our habitat is enrolled in the Wetland Reserve Program (WRP) which ensures an abundance of food and cover to hold ducks for years to come!
